News about the redesign of the Global Reporting Project

"The report of my death was an exaggeration", Mark Twain

There were some rumors in the community about what happened to the
Global Reporting Project in the last days. We believe it is the right
time to let you know what's currently going on.
First of all thank you very much for all the emails and calls we
received from all of you caring about abusix and the Global Reporting
Project. We received great feedback and we feel that we are doing a
great job.

As most of the people know abusix has a huge spamtrap network. This
network is used to conduct the so called "Global Reporting Project" and
to send spamtrap reports to all network owners all over the world.
To fund the project on and offer the free basic reporting service, we
recently started to sell customized data feeds to vendors.
Furthermore we are planning a premium service exclusively for ISPs which
are trustworthy and we are currently testing extended methods of spam
and network abuse reporting.

As a result of all this we had to extent and redesign some components of
the abusix technology which perform the global reporting to keep up the
security and stability of the whole ecosystem.
The trap network is up and running, and we are receiving enormous
amounts of trap hits each day. Since we are highly committed to the
quality of the service we offer, we perform the fine tuning carefully.
So you can expect the public global reporting to push up steadily to the
normal mode.

We believe that everybody out there who gathers reliable data about
network abuse should start sharing and reporting it. Globally and
continuously. If you need help to set up a system capable of reporting
spam and network abuse let us know, we are happy to help wherever we can.

If there are any questions left, feel free to get in touch with us!
